Hello, everyone!
I have been MIA on this platform for quite a while now, and this is mainly due to the fact that I have been working 60-hour weeks at two jobs.
Finally, thankfully, and with relief, I am finished with this chapter of my transition to Austin!
Just a quick list of highlights of what I have been up to:
Morning walks in the Shoal Creek Greenbelt with Leben (at 7am… every day…)
Interning with the education start-up Brain Chase
Working as a part-time executive assistant for a political radio show host
Learning about the HEB grocery store while going as early as possible on Sunday mornings
Spending time with family– Abi, Lance, and baby Annie live just across town!
Going to South Padre for our family vacation at the condo
Trying local Austin foods in between fixing freezer dinners in the microwave
Sleeping every spare minute I can… including during lunch hour. In my car.
Coming home from the island, I am in a great place to contemplate what I might do with all of my newfound free time.
I’m excited to finally read the books that I have only been able to sit with for five pages at a time. I’m almost done with TWO right now, and have been at this place for a month straight. COME ON.
I can’t wait to catch up on TV series that I have been actively avoiding on social media so that I don’t have them spoiled for me. (cough GOT)
I know I will enjoy the little moments throughout my day that I have been sorely missing: puppy snuggles with Leben when I get home, washing dishes in pleasantly warm water, eating deliciously homecooked meals, going for local hikes.
I can’t wait to get back to my hobbies that have fallen by the wayside. Blogging, sewing, journaling, and crafting will all slowly return to the forefront of my life.
I also know that I will enjoy actually meeting new people and doing this strange thing called “hanging out” every now and then.
Coming soon:
Blog updates about our family SPI trip, our favorite Austin parks, my braiding adventures, and more!
Thank you all for keeping up with me after all this time. I really feel the love. Here’s to living!
